About Mrs. Allison...

This is my 22th year as a professional educator. During my career, I have taught elementary and middle school art, served as a high school testing coordinator, and served in various campus and district leadership roles. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art Studies (fancy name for art education) from the University of Texas at Austin (HOOK'EM HORNS \m/), a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University, and a Master of Art in Art Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. Despite the doctorate, I am completely indifferent to being called Dr. Allison, outside of a college classroom.
I have been blessed with a variety of work experiences that I believe have made me a more well-rounded art teacher, including working as a graphic artist, resident painter and educator for the Fort Worth Zoo. I believe strongly that our character is created through the sum of our experiences, and therefore endeavor to create opportunities for students to be exposed to as many positive learning experiences as possible.
My
Men
These are My Men...they are the light of my life and keep me humble, honest, and hilariously entertained. Seriously, I would be lost without this insane group of raging hormones and testosterone. I always thought I wanted to have a little girl to dress and guide through all the drama of life, but after over 20 years in education, I fully believe God looked at me and said, "Nah."
My Fur
Babies
Jilly Bean is our eight year old Havanese/Bichon mix. She loves donut holes, messing with the cats and chasing any stray animals that come into our yard. She thinks she's fierce...she is. Fiercely Adorable!

We also have a handful of cats that are adorable foster fails...mother and daughter duo Nala (buff) and Tango (diluted tortie); and the tortie twins, Bendy and Cindy.
My
Hobbies
As a boy-mom, a lot of what I do for fun is tied to what they like to do. When not making art, I love watching Marvel Super Hero movies, all things LEGO, and visiting new, interesting places. I also like reading (probably too much), experimenting with photography, fostering cats, going to estate sales and repurposing furniture. Mostly, I like spending time with the people in my life who make me happy!
